This is an awesome idea. New members can read the "rough guide", get a basic idea of how we do things around here, and then come a questionable situation they know where they can go to get a more detailed answer.

Thanks deific.
CM, is this close enough to your idea? I want to make a middle ground here, for staff and members.

thats more or less exactly what i was getting at.
it would be a lot more relaxed feeling and leaves a lot more to maturity of members + staff discretion

Sorry, been preparing for exams. I've shortened it quite a lot, removing the section on punishment and adding in that you aren't required to read it. This should be a little less daunting now. Forum Policy In order to maintain the pleasant atmosphere here at SolidSnake Designs, the staff has created a general Forum Policy. This policy covers the basic guidelines for forum behaviour, and is an agreement all members are held to.
You will not be forced to read the complete Forum Policy, but doing so is advised.
Please note that by posting within SolidSnake Designs, you are consenting to follow the guidelines found in the Forum Policy, regardless of whether you have read them or not. Those found in violation of the Forum Policy will be subject to administrative action.
This policy was reworked as of April 2008, the original policy may be found here.Rough Guide to the Forum Policy A shortened version of our Forum Policy. Taking into account that most of our Policy would be covered by common sense, we have shortened the Policy to enable a quick overview of the guidelines. Full details and possible punishments are detailed in the complete Forum Policy. - Please keep post content within the TOS.
- Be considerate to other members, even if you disagree with them.
- Refrain from posting anything that may provoke others into violating the Policy.
- Do not advertise your forum or website. Nor can you recruit for your own ventures.
- You may have a maximum of two 500x150 images in your signature area.
Reports of a policy violation should be sent via personal message to the acting Moderator of the area which the violation is in or alternatively to a Global Moderator or Administrators. Under no circumstances should reports be posted.
