If you can, could you guys create a code and put it in SSD that in your miniprofile you can take away all headers and footers like the way you can take away all images. I have to put &NOHEADERS=1 Every time I go to a new board or post on SSD. My browser hides everything except for the things on the very top and the Legend at the bottom  And With my browser (webtv) it does not even have a bar at the top where It shows the URL. So its not that easy to keep adding in &NOHEADERS=1 |

Um, it would require everything be wrapped in an if statement. And cookie usage.
I hate JS cookies. The added if could slow SSD down a bit.
See if you can just disable JS.

Jack of Bladez has web tv. Which means that with all of the graphics on ssd, he can't view it on his cpu. He has to go to his cousin's to come to SSD. So I think what he is suggesting is that he wants a button on the profile or menu that is able to remove headers and footers.

I know what he is suggesting. I'm saying that it would most likely slow down the coding a little. Might not be much for me, but might be total hell for a dial-up user.
I'm asking him if there is a way to disable JavaScript or image loading on WebTV.

That, or he uses a program like 4Google2 or Google Web Accelerator, which 'hides' banners and images. However, when on Proboards they tend to hide quite a few buttons.

I don't know anything about coding, but a code like the one on Zanmato Designs whereby people cna choose whether to have the forum on "Quality" or "Speed" would be excellent, and I for one (and I think many other members also) would greatly appreciate it (not because I have a slow connection - I have Broadband - but because I just dislike all the coding which I think is unnecessary).

Also for Dial up users, taking away the headers and footers could make it go a lot faster because SSD would have less to load.

a code like this would likely add ot the load time for everyone. unless i am wrong (i probably am), wouldnt it have to load all the codes and then disable them? making it longer for everyone including the ones who have disabled?

No, it would be simply a large if statement around all the codes to test if they either contain a certain cookie or have a certain browser.
Short-term, SSD could just disable the codes for WebTv (not sure if there is Object Detection for something like that). |

webtv is a internet provider Well, I will see what I can do. Going to head back over to a test board and see how loading times are effected. Only reason I'm hesitent on this is because ZD loads slowly for me. Even on broadband. |

It is not added into ZD. Although it did have many problems with me getting on because of headers/footers but we fixed that there.
