I'm not trying to get into this battle in the battle board, but this is the Questions/Suggestions thread and it seems that Jon, Tao and LPF posted very valid suggestions and then everyone jumped down their throats. Seems kind of counter-productive. But that's just me. Also, I can see where everyone is coming from about "branching out from signature battles" and I really do appreciate the added activity to the SOTW Board hopefully ( ). But, just completely eliminating the most common battle on an already struggling board seems like it would eliminate the activity as well. Perhaps, some restrictions on signature battles, or gently phase them out? I would hate to see the Battle Board slowly slide away out of activity because everyone doesn't have enough time to create a giant masterpiece on photoshop and would prefer to just sit down and make a 15 minute signature. That is all.

i just dont like the fact that you cant have a one round battle anymore. :/ So no worms, 1v1 LP's, web design battles, logo design battles, or any personalized battles LP battles of any sort... heil.

you can do worms, they fit in with the tennis description surely?
I'm sure UC will consider adding new types of battle once these have settled in and depending on demand. The examples you gave were all for large canvases and so should be viable for battle subjects.

What you guys need to also take into consideration is if Car allows the logos, 1v1 LP's, etc. is that you actually take part in them. Because in the old battle board, not many was going on. I stopped really voting mainly because I was tired of seeing the same old battle.

If this system was so innovative and needed, why have no people offered up to start a practice, since these arent really battles anymore.

Then why are trying to voice your opinion on something you're not a part of? It is called for, that is exactly what is being done. Strangely enough, the same fucking thing is done about v6 and what had previously been worked on. I moderated the battle board for two seasons (last time I'm mentioning this) and I regularly voted on battles, so I would call myself a part of 'it'. Good for you mate, but you're still not the one creating the images, that's the point. I'm not trying to get into this battle in the battle board, but this is the Questions/Suggestions thread and it seems that Jon, Tao and LPF posted very valid suggestions and then everyone jumped down their throats. Seems kind of counter-productive. But that's just me. No less counter-productive that whining about a new system and then whining more when they have it. With this we are at least forcing change. I would hate to see the Battle Board slowly slide away out of activity because everyone doesn't have enough time to create a giant masterpiece on photoshop and would prefer to just sit down and make a 15 minute signature. It's just a matter of breaking things into pieces. Work for 15 minutes here, do something else, continue another 15 minutes another time, repeat. The best thing about saving is being able to pick it up later and do some more, ya know?

I know that people might at first have to get used to using a larger canvas, but honestly- these aren't supposed to be masterpieces. This has very little to do with the size.
I've sponsored practices - such as the stocked abstract one - which took people 15 minutes tops to make an image that was this exact same size.
I apologize to people who feel they can't share their opinions, but I will point out that the decision to exclude signatures has been made. Questions and suggestions on how to edit the system are welcome, but pointless ones about how 'stupid' this is will be ignored.
Though really, if no one is interested in participating in these battles, it is very easy to remove them.

Personally, I liked the points system.
If you had the points system, you could also have a limited number of battles per member per season, so the same amount of points are up for grabs to everyone.
One season, Tao Ren won overall by sheer amount of wins alone. (No disrespect.) So it would be fairer like that.
Say you had 60 battles max, that would be 5 battles a week over a three month season, and the potential for 600 pts with a 10 pt victory per battle.

I HAS A QUESTION! D:
I don't do pixel lengths with my photos due to the program I use (Lightroom) to crop, which only supports inches. So... what does 700x500 equal in inches, or could there be an inch size (like 4x5 or something) for photo battles...?

I've already had this conversation with Car, you'll have to crop them. I guess you'll have to do it in Photoshop or something, that's what I did.

D: That scares me because I don't know how to use the crop tool for specific sizes in Photoshop... Mostly because I've been taught NOT to crop there.

Make a new document with the specific size and paste a jpg version of your image into it, that way you can see how it will be cut. If you just want to go for a crop then image>canvas size and enter the details there. The arrows are for where to start the crop from.

And you bitch and complain because there is no fucking battle board and then when there is one you bitch and complain because it isn't what you wanted. Seriously you are all a bunch of whiny ass 3 year olds who can never be satisfied. What the FUCKING FUCKING FUCK? A year ago that language wouldn't be acceptable. Anyways, on topic. Signatures are a form of art, no matter what anyone says. However, I support UC's actions here but I think it's not the best for a bunch of lazy ass 13+ year olds. Give out some CASH!$!$! Much respek!

Ovi, swearing has always been allowed, obviously you haven't looked at that post very closely because otherwise you'd notice no swearing was directed at anyone....
Signatures are art yes, but not really a challenge if that is all you create. The point of not allowing them was to expand on people's abilities.
Obviously this board isn't working. It'll stay for a few more weeks and then be removed. Just another great idea turned failure...

Also that post is old and came at a time when everyone was freaking out. I believe Car and Kay knew what that post said before I hit post. And I am pretty sure James and some others did too. Besides that, I am sorry this couldn't work out.
