What about active vetrans? I mean, people that have stayed all the way, even if they leave for a while and come back but stay active whilst they are here. They should be included for definat.

I agree with that. We should try round up members who have left and see if they want to contribute anything.

Yeah that's true. I know that I have stayed here since it began, but I was gone for a while due to personal reasons, but I'm getting active. But yeah, I like those ideas!

It'd be easy - just search through the admin are by registration date. Or, perhaps have it voluntary? I'd rather not put in "Veterans" who have been here since 2003 but have only posted once or twice. Perhaps make the section sport a little something for them. They can submit, perhaps, a little extra on why they've stayed this long. Just a little different for them. So, instead of looking up all those from 2003, just get those who are around to post and say, "Yeah, I've been here since 2003, I'd like to be included". *slaps Squallie* If we do it by registration, i won't be included (well... my registration date)

I will not becuase I was banned and had to make a new account. Its not that big of a deal.

If you guys mean which members will be listed in the yearbook we are not going by registration date. If you mean a section honoring SSD veterans, you will likely miss out if you didm't register in 2003 (so I'm out ). But Ollie will make the decision.

Yeah they were talking about the section honoring the SSD veterans.
But I kind of like what Squallie said. It kind of made sense.

what sort of writing do you want ollie? tut? article? story? poem? Something based around ssd, I don't want anything which you could normally find in the magazine as this would look like a bumper edition of the magazine. I do realise that can rule out a lot. Also about the Veteran thing, I'm not so sure at the moment, we could go with squalls idea. However not all registration dates are correct.

I know your only joking Assassinator, but to be honest.. the idea of this SSD yearbook is to be rather separated from the Herald. As Oliver mentioned above :
" I don't want anything which you could normally find in the magazine as this would look like a bumper edition of the magazine. I do realise that can rule out a lot."
I mean i dont think there is anything stopping the members from doing an article on the previous herald (you know, from Blue Spectrum) but they are two different things..

I think between you, me, and UC, we can weed out those that are lying. For the most part we know who has been here since 2003 and who hasn't. So, we put up a thread sometime asking for all those from 2003 if they want to be in this section. The three of us determine if they've been here, and we carry on from there.

Hm...not meaning to sound like a pessimist, but the SSD Veteran thing sounds kinda bias. It's sort of like, you've been here longer this guy has, so we'll let you write an article. I mean, maybe it IS just me, but it makes me feel almost as if they're worth more to SSD because of their registration date.
Surely just because someone is new to the community, doesn't mean they don't have something to contribute to the Yearbook. I mean, it's a YEARbook, not a TRI-YEARbook. What I'm trying to get at is that if they've been here during this year, they might have something to add that is their own. A yearbook is focused on the previous year, not all the time since SSD's creation.
Saying that it is focused on the year, is somewhat of a paradox. So, if the yearbook IS focused on the year, why is their a Veteran Member section? Even though I have only been here for about a year and a half surely I can contribute just as much as a veteran could about the past year?
Nothing more to add, so let's see how people respond to this.
PS. Not trying to be negative at all, but I think I prove a point.

I believe they were talking about a section honoring the veterans. As for writers, you want people who are active members, but not necessarily veterans.

But that was what I was trying to get at. Why should there be a section for Veterans if it's a yearbook. YEAR. As in 365 days, you know?[Or 366, sometimes.]

Admins always say that registration dates and posts don't matter (in fact I'm sure its in this thread) but your just making the people that have been here longer 'special' because there registration date sticks out from the rest. Well my name sticks out from the rest but your not saying hey lets give all the people with coloured names a section!(which in fact I think is a good idea )

Sorry I haven't been active as of late, due to a lot of stuff going on in my life, but if you need a hand from an old friend, Ollie, hit me with a message. This yearbook thing does sound cool. I can think of lots of cool stuff that happened on SSD, from the rise and fall of clans to the scavenger hunt to battle of the sexes. And who couldn't forget the Requests board and new version releases. I guess I would qualify as a "veteran member", having registered in November, 2003. (at least thats what my profile says.)
