Isn't the battle board becoming a "Community Project"? Hence moving it would be necessary.
Just a question/ thought

What? How is it a community project?

With community projects there are no winners or losers, they cater a specific area of art.

Either Battle board or SOTW needs to be moved...
Both have winners and both cater to areas of arts... or am i just getting this mixed up?

The Battle Board is meant to help you excel in your design. SoTW is there as a fun weekly contest

Yeah. And you get to set your own "rules"(following Josh's set rules) in the Battle Board, as the rules/limits are set by Ethan in SotW. Also, the Battle Board is 24-7, and SotW is weekly. ^^

This is about the contest within battle board and not the board itself, sorry for the confusion!!! The Battle Board is meant to help you excel in your design. SoTW is there as a fun weekly contest So SOTW isn't meant for improvement? Yeah. And you get to set your own "rules"(following Josh's set rules) in the Battle Board, as the rules/limits are set by Ethan in SotW. Also, the Battle Board is 24-7, and SotW is weekly. ^^ You're more a less proving my point. SOTW has a weekly contest with winners and losers, the battle board has a monthly contest with winners and losers. They both gave "guidelines" to follow but allow you to use your imagination. I'm not seeing how the two are different from one another other than you make one on a smaller scale than the other.

The battle board doesn't have a monthly contest. The current tourney was setup by Josh. It's not a monthly thing.
Battle board always open, members battle each other.
SOTW is a weekly contest. Members participate in a given amount of time.

OH!!! Okay, I thought the tournament was something that has been around for a while. I see people with "blah blah winner of blah blah" here and there and thought this was one of those things. That makes more sense.
My bad.

Seasons are every 4 months though. This contest is the first since the summer. I'd like to see one done once every two-three months though

Oooh I see what you mean now, I thought you were meaning community projects that we do in visual arts. You're right in a way, but the boards and categories are kind of arranged in an order of importance. If you put the battle board at the bottom, its likely that less people would use it. Same sort of thing happens if you moved the category up. SOTW doesn't really fit in perfectly, if we moved it into the art section with the battle board, the category would be too big, if it was a sub board there would be less activity ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) see what I mean ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

You suck ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

Aren't you the one that said that sometimes the turnout for the contest is poor?

The Battle Board only has seasons to give the board some point. We had to because of a huge decrease in activity that happened just prior to when Matt and I were modded in there last November. It isn't a project at all. It is oriented around the idea that you can get better by battling others and is under the Art & Design cat for that reason. SoTW is a weekly contest held for fun, there is very little point to it in my head (Probably the reason why I stopped entering once I finally won one. lol).
And tbh, SoTW should not be in Art & Design. Might just be my opinion, but sigs aren't what I would call art, least not the majority of the stuff that is entered.

SOTW has a board dedicated to Judge comments where they tell you what they liked and what could have been better. If thats not improving your art work I don't know what is. How is the battle board made to improve your art more then SOTW? You create work competing with others. Thats actually no different than SOTW. ~~~~~~~~~~~ The issue was settled with oliver telling me about his use of the hierarchy in the board placements.
