This might sound like a stupid idea from a retarded kid to many, but I will really dig it. What if we hold a tournament where all the big PB design forums will participate? Let's have it like this. It will be between SSD's, G101's and F5's staff members. If you are a staff member at more than one forum, you will have to chose the forum you want to represent. That's the basic idea really. You can make it more perfect and stuff. So, what do you say? I think it will be a heck of a tourny To clarify: The staffs will engage in either Graphic or Coding battles or both, if possible.

No It won't. Onl ystaff will join. Now that's no fun. if it's members, then I'm good with it. But we'd have to have the big name admins agree to it.

First off, very unoriginal. PBS does this quite often and F5 is in the middle of the second one in the past year if I am correct.
Next, what do we get out of this? I hate running and participating in these tournaments. It comes down to the fact that we will take hours to make this happen and get nothing for our troubles. So why go through all the hassle when others will benefit and we will lose?
We tried something to this effect a while back (Ash ran it. Someone deleted it from the main site it appears) and it did horribly. Out of like 15 forums that signed up, 8 competed. Of those 8, I would say that only 2 or 3 were even of intermediate quality.
I just don't think any large tournaments are worth the trouble. Especially after what happened during the Cohesion battles (not our late results. The complaints about how it was being run, us being attacked for having things to do other than run a tournament for people that don't even care, ect.).

I honestly think this would be a great idea. It would be quite a cool to spectate. I'm all for it.

SSD would win the coding comp hands down, but the graphics would be interesting. I still don't know, G101 & F5 may not want to participate.

I actually don't like the idea. its pretty unoriginal and not a good idea. Cause the raters would have been me and Oliver and I don't like it that way cause its more work for both of us . I was going to do that back then but then again it wasn't too catchy in the eyes anyway

Yea i am not to keen on the idea either. It would be better for members to join in and not be the staff. Maybe if it was groups within SSD. A few groups are made of a certain amount of people, some coders and designers in each group. I reckon that would be much better and it would allow members to join in.

Not all staff are amazingly good at graphics. A lot of the 'elites' here are still members. I'm not happy with the idea.

The problem with the idea is that it is too big, involves too many people, too much responsibility for people to handle.
Also I don't really like such heavy rivalry between forums done in such an organised way.

Alan, UC, Reedy, Edd, Nexxia, Crazy. None of them are staff. It would be like 4 of us against some really good artists at F5 and G101 and ZD.

Well, it was a good idea up until the picky staff members got all up 'da house. I'd say it wouldn't have to just be staff members who can enter, staff members could pick lets say, 3 members of their choice and work with that. But sense the idea has been shot down, like any other "Suggestion" it doesn't really matter. igi-

Oh believe me I like hearing suggestions, they are very good ideas in theory but put into practice they don't work out so well, we have a little more work to do before we do stuff like that.
Small contests are quite fun too, they also take less time to complete.

I know I am usually the bearer of bad news in this board, but someone has to do it. Most ideas presented in here are quite good in theory (stealing from Oliver here) but are illogical. They just won't work. I've been active everyday for 2 years now. Most of this stuff has been tried and failed miserably. Especially the contest ideas. Mega competitions don't work. I have yet to see on that did. Look at the Hex Games (For those of you that were here at the time) it built up all this momentum and force and support, but when it was put into action, it failed. It failed twice in fact. It failed and then they tried to revive it. Brian tried to keep it going but it just didn't work.
