Hi,
Well, I suppose I'll get straight to the point. Though SSD seems to emphasize digital art (and coding) more than anything, how about a forum for actual art? Like discuss the many styles of real art, modern art, and you could even throw a sub forum in for showing off something that you had made in real-life art.
Your thoughts?

It's been discussed, even very recently in the Mod Inn, but it comes down to activity. Look at boards that we've made in the past. Literature, Photography, Debates, Video Games come to mind. Activity in them dropped tenfold in a month. And those had a nice little basis built up already. Traditional Art is hardly ever discussed, and outside of drawing and photography, I don't know of anyone that does it.

However, Video Games and debates aren't exactly art. The other two may be, but what would be wrong with giving it a shot? Especially because this is an art site, and I think that adding new forums that are based on essential (art), that they could be active.

I wasn't implying they were art, they were just examples of boards doomed to fail. There is 0 activity for traditional art right now. For the literature board, it took the chillout board to be spammed with peoples writings. Now that it does have its own board, it is pretty dormant.
Also, we are not an art forum. The main purpose of SSD has always been PB support. The graphics section was dedicated to PB graphics for a very long time. We a are a Design and Support forum. In the terms we use it in, Design means Digital Design, not traditional.

Design meaning art, in some ways, in my eyes. I dunno, though it is for Proboards Design, I find it to be an art forum to a high extent as well.

I wasn't talking about yours there. The Debates and Video Games boards were. And it is seeming the Literature board as well.

Yeah we did talk about this in the mod inn, currently a topic which they're discussing. I think that opening "Digital Art" up into just "Art" can open it up to a lot of different topics, not all can be expected to be covered. I can't see a sub forum with it at present but there is no restriction on traditional works in show off, people just have a tendancy to post digital art, forums and websites.
