Hey guys, first of all, I want to say, my computer has no viruses, it is completely fast working or surfing the internet and my internet connection is really fast too.

I surf all the sites and forums (including all proboards) with no problem or no "slows"

But whenever I surf SSD forum, I have to wait a 30sec-2min just to load a page.

I though it was my computer's problem, but I surf other places very fast.

And I also tried from other computers (my friend's, my sister's, internet cafes, etc.).

And all of them slow down in SSD forum.

I do not know what is the problem, but I suggest checking the codes, images, etc. whatever it needs, because I belive I am not the only one having these problems...

Sometimes SSD has its slow times, but usually it's really fast. It can be slow when they are editing codes or the server is really slow.

SSD is on a really large server that has been havong some load porblems lately, that could be part of it. It should only be really bad the first time you open it up. After that you should be fine. I'm only on a 1 mbps connection and this is the fastest loading site I visit on a daily basis.

It's most likely server lag. There are 3 servers merged into one on here. Not to mention server 17 has always been a very busy server.

Server 15,16, and 17 are merged.

Use 17. Usually seems a bit faster to me. Don't know why, but it does.

Just to add, they are merged and there ssdesigns.proboards##.com will work for 15, 16, 17.

It's funny when people blame the coding for their problems, when it's not the coding. It's either your connection, the browser you're using, or your computer in general.

It's not the internet connection. I have the same problem. I think you should clean up the coding and graphics a tiny bit for faster loading time. Unneeded(?) codes should be taken out and coding should be made shorter. I know peter isn't coding for SSD anymore, but I'm sure other coders could help.

I think we ran into this problem before, and I thought we were gonna use external scripts, but I dunno what happened to that. That should solve the problem as the scripts will be cached along with the images. Though you have to make sure your cache is enabled and you have enough space to use it.

Well technically there could be several things on your end like:
-The browser
-The connection
-And your computer

Though several users have this problem, so I think we need to better support to lower speed connections.

I completely understood your post and read it all the way through. However just because you do not have a virus doesn't mean that it isn't your computer. The internet connection speed is probably the most likely problem, because I don't have these problems on a somewhat faster connection. Going to other places might have a different connection, but it doesn't mean it will be faster.

Of course it could be the server, but not every single person is experiencing this problem, which wouldn't explain that.

I'm not able to make that decision. However should one of the higher staff decide that it is a good idea to, my solution should work.

I believe it is your browser, the loading times at the moment are probably about as fast as we can make it (aleon can probably confirm that). Which browser do you use?

It might actually be the internet connection, just because its fast normally doesn't mean it always will be fast. Some connections are good at loading some things and bad at loading others because lets face it, connections have to hook up to the web through your internet provider. Their servers might be the problem. E.G. imagine there is an internet provider called something like beeweb or something, they might have servers that are good at loading coding but have trouble with sites with loads of images. They do not cause errors but it is slower. A second provider say google if they did it might be good at loading images but have trouble with a lot of coding. Again, it does not bring up errors but it might be slower then Beeweb. The google would be faster then beeweb at loading images while beeweb is faster at loading coding then google. SSD has a lot of coding and images but ofcourse, there are other problems which servers have so it isn't just limited to coding and images like areas where servers are, maybe a problem connecting to where server 17 is located.

Basicly what i am saying is that you cannot completely rule out your internet connection, i understand what you have said but i'm just saying that it still might be the problem which in that case, you cannot do much about unless you start using say server 15 which might be faster for your internet providers servers to load I hope that helps you understand something anyway.

Putting those into seperate files and allowing the browser to cache it would speed it up. I think we were going to do it before, but something cut off. All I know is that I think we should do it.

ok well upon looking at that image..id say it looks more like someone has done a bit of wor with the smudge tool in photoshop.
