This is how you can achieve similar looks to the photos found in this thread. First, find an image you want to apply this effect to. For me, it was a sign in my front yard. The first thing you want to do is duplicate the layer twice. Set the lowest layer above the original to "Screen." This will brighten the overall image. Now, on the second duplicate set-up a Gaussian Blur. Blur the photo just enough so the shapes are still definable but the detail isn't there. You probably don't want to go over 30pixels in Gaussian Blur. Set this layer to Multiply. Your overall image will turn out a bit darker than the original but the effect is still cool! You can always use adjustment layers to brighten the shadows and such if you want For you people who are too lazy to read, here are images that will tell you all the general details ;D edit: Seperated large paragraph into shorter lines, easier to read & follow!
