The trailer for Guy Ritchie's upcoming Sherlock Holmes was released yesterday. You can view it here or here in 720p. It stars Robert Downey, Jr. as Holmes, Jude Law as Watson, and Mark Strong as the villain. I have to admit, I am huuuuge fan of Guy Ritchie. I love Snatch. I love Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. And I recently got to see RocknRolla and that was just awesome. And Mark Strong is an excellent actor. Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law pretty much speak for themselves. I am really looking forward to seeing this. Comes out on Christmas in the US (not sure about other countries, sorry)

I don't ever remember Sherlock Holmes being this awesome. I thought it was a normal detective? Lke Detective Clousoe(?), but less comedic/dumb. Was he always about the super natural and so... daring? Diving out a seventh story window into a wide & deep canal? o.0

Diving out a seventh story window into a wide & deep canal? o.0 From what I understand, Ritchie is adapting the lesser known novels and stories (and I believe Holmes' comics, even) where he is a very dirty, very gruesome man. A bare-knuckles boxer. And one who believes in the super natural. I was honestly surprised to find out that they weren't going to use Holmes' sworn enemy and one of the best villains in history, Moriaty (I cannot spell it. ><). So that right there really tells me they are going for something way different than what we are used to.

Lets hope it's as classic as the popular stories...

Never liked Ritchie much. I don't think I will like the movie, even though I'm a huge fan of the novels. Looks like he took everything that made Holmes special out of the movie and added some action and the same old corny stuff he pulls in all of his movies. I would prefer Holmes to be the same old phenomenon that barely ever pulls a punch. Doesn't seem like Ritchie's version will focus much on the mystery elements of the Holmes novels, which does nothing to excite me about it. But that's just me.
btw, are the rumours about holmes and watson being homosexuals in the movie true?
