Anyone here an iPhone developer? I've been playing around with the developer kit for a while now, pretty fun stuff. Nothing good enough for the store though. Anyone have any projects they've done with it? I'd love to hear your stories.

I haven't tried yet.. I've been looking forward to it but I've been busy learning C# I've been surprised with the quality of some of the apps though (both in the App Store and from Installer/Cydia). I would expect a lot more.. crap.. to make it through.

Ive been looking into devving for the iPhone. Im a little bit more interested in Google's Android system though. It seems like it would be fun to dev for. Same here. Apples SDK for the iPhone/Touch is four gigabytes while Googles' SDK is somewhere under 100megs. I'm more interested in the iPhone/Touch market for the money. I've got my idea as well! And No! I'm not sharing I'm also interested in the Android because my next phone will be an Android - whenever it is released by AT&T or Sprint, if I have the income for my own line rather than leeching off my parents I'll go with Sprint otherwise it's AT&T. Which ever network it comes out for I'll be buying a developer phone first to start making programs. I can probably do that on the T-Mobile developer phone, can't I? But my complete lack of C++/C/C# is my only limitation. If they made a programming shell like Dreamweaver is to Web Development then I'd be one happy geek/nerd. I also have to factor in my corporate loyalties; unlike most people I entrust Google with virtually all my data. Aside from my text, spreadsheets and presentation documents everything else on Google Servers. My contact book (phone numbers, addresses, etc), e-mail, health records (via Google Health) and now even my voice mail thanks to the recently released/upgraded Google Voice. So developing for the Android has a lot of personal gain for me that I probably can't do on the iPhone/Touch. I'm not sure if I can add an "unverfied" application to my iTouch. Unverfied being that Apple has confirmed that I can put this app on their Store. With Android, I know I can make an app and be the only one using it. When I look at the Android from a developers stand point I see more freedom to create what I desire. Where Apple. I've been using my MacBook for almost a year and used an iMac on and off for several years prior. My only concern is that iSync won't recognize my Android like it doesn't recognize my Windows Mobile SmartPhone - I know! Windows. Mac. DUH! But you'd think, right? - so that's something I have to think about. Honestly, I'm no true fan of the iPhone. Sure. It's got it's PhD in Awesome, Sexy and Technology but when I ever I use one of my families I feel so limited. And no application is going to "open" the iPhone up like I'm use to my phones. When I look at the iPhone from a developers stand point I see a wider audience to market my applications to. In the end. I'm neutral. I have my reasons to dev for both phones once I learn the corresponding languages. I took "Intro to C++" this semester but dropped it because my teacher was so slow and liked going off topic.
