Has your site ever had a security breach or a DOS/DDOS attack? I saw that Proboards.com had one earlier today and I don't think it was the first time. I also remember vForums had one. Something must be appealing about free forums hosts because I see them targeted often. One of my sites is very vulnerable to an attack, but the attacker really has nothing to gain. Apart from that, I've had no security breaches or hacks. I did have my account cracked on a webmaster forum www.namepros.comI signed up at another webmaster forum I found in somsone's sig on that site and they apparently had some script running that stole the password of everyone who signed up so someone used that info which was the same as my account info for Name Pros and started using my account. I caught onto it quickly because i started receiving PM's replying to a message I never sent so i knew something was up. But the odd thing was, the mod showed me all the iP'S that had used my accountt the past month and there were 5 different ones all tracing to various locations across the world. Weird.

I had a proboard cracked a loooooooong time ago. As for DOS attacks I had a suspicion that my site was attacked about a year ago because it kept getting disabled for too much traffic. Other than those 2 incidents it's been smooth sailing.

Luckily I haven't been hit. I was the only one at that time of vF getting DDOS... the server went absolutely psyco... I soon rang the boss to help!

Luckily I haven't experienced anything like that. The only thing close to it was when my co-admin's older brother got into his account and was able to get admin access that way. That was only because my co-admin wasn't that great at hiding his password, and luckily the older brother didn't do anything, but that's about the only time it's happened.

I was the reason SSD was attacked. Ryan (the prick bastard who started the attack) was offering a free web hosting service. He only advertised on SSD, and I signed up just to check it out. He grabbed up my Password and after his first account that was used to spam got shut down, he used mine. Then I was blamed for the spamming. Then Johnny helped me out and I was able to change the password so he couldn't log in to my account any more. Then began the clean up process.
I've never had one of my sites hacked. I did have a friend who lost his entire site as a result of a hacker though.

I actually sat on the phone for three hours with his ISP to get his internet connection shut down. Various emails back and forth between my self and three tech support members.
Just one of the reasons I wish there was some sort of strict policy against advertising for websites/forums.
