I finally got around to setting up my blog. It's going to be a sports blog. I already bought a theme for it but now I need help with mods. Does anyone know of some good plug ins I should add to it? And is wordpress.org the only reliable site to download them from? Also, does the site load slow for any of you? www.damnsports.netty

I've gotten mods from various sites. I'm sorry I don't remember them off the top of my head although wordpress.org has alot of good ones. As for good plugins I think that's more up to you and what you want from the site personally. And it loads fine for me

There are lots of great plugins and widgets from Wordpress themselves. Maybe you need to look at other similar sites and see what you like then ask where that particular plugin can be got?

RECRUITMENT THREAD! lol I'm not in I don't follow sports. If you were on an online community and said that, you would be called a geek loser with no life since you don't follow sports and all that.

I hired two writers yesterday. So thats enough for now unless there are some volunteer writers. Once we get our content built up, i am going to start promoting it and hopefully getting a dedicated member base. xD

How much are you paying them if you don't mind me asking. 2 cents a word for one. .015 for the other.

Wordpress isnt really good when it comes to freedom, i think its too restricted. PHP mainly it uses but i think if it ran on ASP it would be far better. Plugins that suit your needs are hard to find i recon :\

ASP is horrible.
The best way to go is with a universal language, in which case, PHP meets.
ASP has to be on a windows server to actually be PHP. Other wise you're just saving the ASP scripts with PHP extensions and directing them to a PHP interpreter.
Also, god forbid you were to ever need to switch hosts, you've got to find one that has reliable windows servers. Good luck.
Best just to stick with a common language that runs on all servers.
