I started out on proboards in 2003 and got my first real domain/host in 2006. I've been running sites for a long time and I've learned alot.

i bought my first domain and hosting in December of 07. So I became a novice webmaster at that time. I started out with a lot of trial and error and eventually got the hang of things. I frequent many webmaster forums such as Name Pro's and Digital Point to learn all I can. I own a web directory which has worked out well. Since Google stopped endorsing directory submissions, I thought my revenue would go down, but its actually went up. I promote it every day and have developed a strong traffic flow on a daily basis. Of course, this isn't a project I'd like to have forever. I am always talking with a few of my online friends of ideas we could implement into a real website. Started a few of them but never finished.

I designed and uploaded my first website a lot of years ago. I think I believed I was a webmaster back then. But it was only until a few months later till I found out a lot more, did a lot more learning and research and finally put up a website that had... quite a lot of stuff in it. It was centered around the interests of my friends and myself. Football, News, stuff like that. I had set up an e-mail service with ZZN as well, was quite epic for a while. It was then that I was in talks with my school to build their website, it just never seemed to materialize though.
Oh well. So yeah, since I've been about 14-15 I'm thinking.
But real Webmaster? No, not even yet.

I created my first site at the age of about 12... HTML on Freewebs! So in theory, I was a webmaster then!

Been a webmaster for a little over five years. Various RC forums, and related sites. Then my own sites, business sites, and many others.

I got my first domain this past January. I'm still learning, but I definitely have the basics down pat enough to be comfortable with what I am doing. So... 2008? xD

I haven't really been a practicing webmaster as of recently, but my first webmaster experience was probably a few years ago around 2003 or 2004 when I was 14 or 15. I had used Geocities to try and put up my own website and template, but I guess you can't really consider that being a Webmaster. However, shortly after I bought the domain WorldWebDesigns.net and tried to start my own designing company, but managed to only get the under construction page/image up, and half of the website done before I lost interest, lol. I guess I can blame that on my short attention span as a 15 year old male, lol. #xd.gif# However, through that domain I got my first introduction into Control Panel, FTP, etc. And from there kind of just picked up small things in Control Panel through trial and error. After that, I have just uploaded and managed a few websites for some online gaming clans that I have played with. As of currently I am in charge of www.highpointgaming.com as I help to manage the website and created/maintain the forums.

I never really considered myself a webmaster of any sorts. I know web development, SEO, etc. but I never quite made it my focus. Systems development was always my thing. But in terms of how long I've been developing web-based systems... it has been about 6 or 7 years now. I first started getting heavily into it when I needed a way to provide access to programs I was developing. That was back when I was good friends with AwesomeAndrew and was using Visual Basic 6.0 haha.

The first website I coded on my own would've been when I was about 11, I think. I just sort of taught myself HTML over a few years, which is why all this new CSS-based layout stuff makes no sense to me. I still live in the tables era. The first time I ever really became a "webmaster" would've been 2003, when I opened my first Big Brother fansite. It was small and very ugly, but we all have to start somewhere. And I'm glad I never went through the Freewebs/Moonfruit stage most people seem to have these days.
