Recently at school I've begun working on vector art on Illustrator. Though I know the jist of what it is and adore it completely, I still have trouble working with it because I lack the expertise to make things. Just wanting some advice and a braoder definition please

Practice makes perfect. :3 Also, I have a friend who loves to vector. starbeams.deviantart.com/ I'm sure if you send her a message she'd be glad to give you some tips. I know she was always helping me out in highschool when I asked!!! LMAO

Vector takes time, and patience. All you need to know is to use the pen tool. Outside of that you need an ability to draw.
Learn by tracing; People, Cars, Objects... all can help you develop your technique.
-- That's about the extent of what I can tell you. Teaching a person to vector is harder than most think. Instructors can explain what a tool does but you have to find how you take advantage of its use.

Like Saknika said, practice makes perfect, the only way to get good at vector is to practice. Sure it might be hard at the start but you'll pick it up eventually, I always found Photoshop was easier to do vector stuff because I was more used to it than Illustrator.

Vector is one of these types of art that more or less requires you to have some sort of idea/concept in mind before starting to do a new design. Or it requires you to have your own style already, be it a full style or a still perfecting one. Hope that all makes sense.
