You have a variety of Photography themes. From surreal, to landscape. Which is your favorite? Why?
I love my conceptual work the most. It's varied, and it can have many different themes in it, but it always tells a story and makes the viewer think and feel. This is true are and my motivation for photography.
What inspires you the most? How do you get over periods of time without inspiration?
Being out there, with a camera, is my biggest inspiration. I see things and keep trying to put my perspective into it. When I don't have the time or energy, I just focus on other things in my life like work and family. The energy will always comeback.
Is there anything other than photography that you do for fun?
I love NBA sports, music, writing, my work (media planning and Internet)
Have you considered taking your skill to a professional level?
Yes. When I bought my semi pro gear (the Nikon D70) after my first solo exhibition I decided that in 10 years I'll do my photography full time. 5 years have passed, so I'm half way there
Now, just to show how human you are... what was your most embarrassing moment growing up?
This one is hard... I guess having my driver license just in the age of 25...
Other than photography, has any other form of art drawn in your attention?
Writing. It's the origin of all my artistic drive
Ah, yes, writing, my forte. In your opinion, what is the best equipment a photographer could have? What do you use?
A mania digital midi format that costs around $30,000
I work with the Canon 5D and L lenses I'm slowly buying
Who are some photographers you admire?
I'm most impressed with high preformed consistency so my favorite photographer here is - click -
If you could live anywhere in the world where would that be? Why?
Up north in Israel (Ramat Hagolan). It's a secluded place. Up in nature, with a different tempo to life. A place to focus on yourself and dig in. I hope I can live there in a few years, when providing for my family will be less of an Issue (there are no jobs out there)
Every great artist has over gone some sort of obstacle to get where they are today. What is your advice for beginners or even fellow advanced photographers?
Money is the biggest obstacle for a starting photographer. Buying the gear, deciding this is what he/she wants to do when the payoff is weak. My advice is to grow with your work while having a second job, to escape the problem. This way you have time to learn what it is you want to focus on and examine it in time. And my advice for any photographer is to try and find the ideas and stories before thinking about gear and technique. This is what separates good photographers from the really unique and great ones.
