I don't know an awful lot about any type of coding, other than basic HTML and i know bits about javascript. My uncle runs a fairly sucessful design and marketing company and has asked if i fancy a job as a trainee ASP programmer. He has asked how long it will take me to get up to speed and given me a link to where his programmers learn from ( here) Do you think it's a job that i should jump at the chance for and how much do you think i would need to know to be "up to speed" (bearing in mind it's a trainee position. thanks for any help

But, on the other hand, it's a job expirience, would look great on a resume, and is probably worth it from that aspect. A trainee position is flexible =P You prove you've learned enough and you get bumped up. Then, when you go looking for a job in the IT Industry you have this to back you up. As for being up to speed: Depends. Make sure you know the basics (how to output, loops, conditionals, etc) and then I'd say look into using the MSAccess Database (most common with ASP). However, only your Uncle can really answer that =P He's hiring you afterall. I'd say: Go for it.

thats some great feeback thanks very much. i am already pretty proficient with using access databases which is why i thought i was pretty well suited to the job. i was just a bit unsure as i don't know an awful lot about asp. I will have a look at some tutorials and guides and go and buy a book he suggested. thank you
