Do any of you do any .net coding? Such as, C#.net, or VB.net?
I've recently begun doing some C#.net stuff.

Nah not really. C# is basically java with a new name slapped on it. I am sticking with java =).

I assumed you meant the .net framework.

C# and C#.NET has basically no difference.
C#.NET only add .NET features into C#; they're still coded the same way, in OOP, and they are not complied into .exes.
C# is C++ and Java complied, with .NET compatibility, and some new features, in my opinion. I've done C#.NET to make some applications for Windows. It's quite interesting, what C# can actually do, though I think I'll just stick with C++ or Java.

Although C# .NET has it's "pros" (a good IDE, easiness, but fairly powerful, etc.), I personally wouldn't use it to program anything really useful. It isn't very non-Windows-friendly, it's probably not as fast as some other languages (such as C++), and it requires the .NET framework, which is a resource hog. Although Java also has its "pros" too (cross-platform, OOP, etc.) I personally don't like it much either. It's slow to compile, and it generates slow and large programs. Java just seems to "high-level" for me. I actually use it for some things, but I try to avoid it. I'd take C++ over it, because it's basically like C, a language which I like, with extra optional features. I also like assembly too, but that's mostly for portable devices such as calculators.... I'm more of a low-level guy, except it's kind of hard to do low-level web coding....
Remember, I'm not saying that C# .NET nor Java is completely bad, but I prefer C++ over both of them (in most cases). I like messing around with C#, dragging and dropping controls and taking advantage os Intellisense. And, I like creating a simple game as a Java applet, or a simple GUI Java application every once in a while. I'm just saying that I would normally prefer C++ over Java and C#.NET if I were going to make a large complicated powerful application to be uploaded the download centers and advertised.
