Just wondering if there are any C# programmers in the house? Anyone getting into systems programming these days is overlooking C and C++ and jumping into C#, being the all now "in" technology and everything.
I'm doing my semester project in Visual C# this time around.

I have been wanting to get into it, I just haven't had time here lately.

We get a choice for our programming classes, I chose C# because they don't have any web-type languages (perl, php, etc.)
It's alright, but I don't see myself working with it in my career.

I've worked with it before. I love its GUI capabilities.

If that's aimed at me, then yes, using Visual C#.
And if it's aimed at Virt, then I'm assuming so as well.

I've done some C# before. It's sexy, especially when combined with Visual Studio, but as you probably know, I prefer C++.

I just started a course on Game Development. The .NET framework stuff is annoying me, but so far it's been good. I'm using Visual C# and DirectX.

Found a pretty good book on DirectX programming with VC#.
But I'd rather not get banned posting it here.

Try this.
That one is basic, and when you're done scooping through it, there's a huge resource of them available here. That website is pretty awesome.

That works. *claps hands*
My friends are working on a game using C++ with some random engine. Is C# compatible with C++? I've never really been in a project where they've been together..

Virtuoso: As far as I know....
C# isn't too compatible with C++ (mostly in terms of the actual code and syntax, although they're still similar), but you can use both with .NET, and most popular C++ libraries having .NET bindings.

You're talking about converting the DLL's for use from one language to another Virtuoso?

Err.. I suppose so. I guess essentially we're using both languages to code one thing, which could be complicated..
