not sure if this is quite the right section to ask this. but does anyone know how to achieve a similar effect (on paul, the bg i can manage). i use cs2 so if anyone knows of any tuts or how exactly i should go about it, it would be much appreciated. from what i gather, its probably just some messing with the contrast and levels, but i cant seem to make it work. heres the commercial incase you havent seen it: www.apple.com/itunes/ads/mandolin/hd.html

Grr. Don't post links to the HD trailers. My computer can't handle them. As for the question, it's messing with levels, curves, and threshhold (in the Image>Adjustments menu). The actual coloring looks to have been done with a gradient map (not to be confused with gradient overlay) with gray tones and a slight purplishpinkish tone in there (The gradient map could be difficult. I could show you an example of it if you really need me to)
