Hello Josh, thank you for taking the time to be interviewed
No problem Morgoth. Anything for SSD.
What is it that drew you to SSD in the first place?
The same thing as everyone else - large code database and awesome Graphic Requests.
Now you've been a moderator at SSD for, is it a few months now? How did you come to be orange-d, and what made you accept the position?
Well, I was kinda taken aback by being asked. I never thought I would have been given the DID board. Oliver asked and I accepted though. I've always wanted to be a mod at SSD, so of course I wasn't going to refuse when finally asked.
Hah, I know the feeling...it's how I got landed with this job >.< The DID board hasn't been the most stable in SSD history; how was it when you first took over, and what changes have been implimented now?
It was an absolute mess when I first took over. I remember that Matt and myself had to go through and vote in two pages of duels our first day. It had been mod-less for over a month at that point and it was in disarray. We really haven't changed all that much. We're still using the same basic rules and such, just a more advanced version. I read through each thread daily and vote in every battle that is the main way we've got that place up and going.
If you could moderate any board on SSD other than DID, what would it be, and why?
Digital Art. I've always enjoyed posting in there and Digital Art is one of my hobbies. And right now it is modless (*hint hint* Oliver) Lol
Hinting at Oliver never works. He's as receptive as a towel. Now, you and I share something in common...and it isn't SSD modship. WE BOTH LOVE MADONNA.
Madonna owns. I'd probably get slapped around here for saying that though. She denounced her home state of Michigan a while back and most people here still hate her. Lol
Pfft, how ridiculous. Why do you love Madonna so much, and when was the first time you discovered her music?
I've been listening to her music for a while. Never enjoyed it much until I got her latest album though. It is just amazing. The music is perfect and her lyrics and voice just fit in the right way. I love Dance music too, so that helps. I have now listened to nothing but this CD for 3 days straight...9 times by my count. Lol
While doing whatever-it-is-you-do while on the computer, do you listen to music? If so, what are your favourite people/bands, except of course, Her Madgesty.
Lol. I listen to music constantly. I listen to an average of 6 hours of music each schoolday, 9 on the weekends. iTunes and my iPod are my friend. I generally listen to bands like KoRn, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Tool, and A Perfect Circle. So it is really odd for me to be obsessed over Madonna. Lol
Mwaaaaah, it’s perfectly normal You're in a room, and suddenly a chimp bursts in doing karate. What do you do?
Let it kick my ass. Can you imagine what an excellent story that would be after the bruises, cuts, and fractures heal?
Hahahaha. You recently won 'Best Terragen Artist' in the SSD Excellence Awards. What got you into this sort of graphic making, how long have you been doing it, and why?
Well, you're gonna laugh at why I started doing Terragen. I was using PSP at the time and downloaded an image that was a .tga format. To normal people, this is the format called Targa. For me, it meant Terragen image. I downloaded Terragen and tried opening it, and failed. So I messed around with the program and really began to like it. That was more than 1 and a half years ago now. I enjoy working with the program because of two things:
- 1. The enormous upside it has and
- 2. I want to do 3D animation when I go into the job market, and Terragen is the leading landscape generator, especially with Terragen 2 on the horizon.
Josh, it has been a pleasure talking to you. Thanks for taking the time out, and good luck with everyone on SSD...and remember, Hail Madonna!
Madonna Fans Unite!!!! Thanks for interviewing me, see ya around
