Happy new year, Hechizero, and thank you for agreeing to do an interview with moi.
Lol.... thanks, and to you too. And, it's a pleasure to be interviewed by you, I hear that you have some persuasive ways to make people talk.
Hahaha, well we'll see about that Tell us about yourself, what you like to do in your spare time (other than coding of course), what sports/games you enjoy, etc.
Jajajaja (That's like a hahaha but in Spanish ). Well, for those that don't know I'm Latino (from the US territory PR). What do I like to do in my spare time?? Jajajaja... now that's a joke. Seriously, a double major isn't easy, as a consequence I rarely have any free time. However when I do, I either talk with my friends at college, code, watch some anime or play video games.
I don't play any sports, probably because since I was a child I never enjoyed them. I was (and still am most of the time) very shy so I couldn't interact with the others as well as some people do. Plus, my brother is the athletic one, he's a baseball player, and a good one at that. Games... well, I enjoy RPGs and sometimes Strategy/RPGs. Any other hybrid is out of my list.
Jajaja...I shall remember that So you're into RPGs and such things, but what made you get into coding, and when did you start?
Well, let me tell you a secret (yeah right ). I always wanted to be a programmer, specifically a video games programmer. Then why am I studying Chemistry and Biology? Heh, I'm sure that a lot of you can assume why. Anyways, so the coding/programming thing has always interested me. One day while I was on SSD I read a thread about what languages to learn first, in which order, etc.
So, I decided to go to Amazon.com and buy some books. I did, I read all of them and that's how I learnt to code. When did I start? I'm not sure. Maybe if I do a search on SSD for my first code (which is crap, a n00b script without doubt) I'll get the day.... but I'm too lazy.
Let's say I'm stupid (of course, I'm not...) Why ARE you studying Chemistry and Biology when you're so talented at coding?
Well, my plans first where to become and otorinolaringologist which required a major in any science to enter the School of Medicine. After that four years of General Medicine, two years of surgery lessons and four extra years for the specialty. Yep, a total of ~14 years studying for a profession that, even though I could "accept", wasn't my dream profession. So why did I do it? Most of the time, that answer has the same reason: pressure. Family can sometimes be a pain, oh well. However, maybe after my double major I'll finally study what I want. How did I turn things around? Well, when you grow up you learn how to "gently" manipulate others better.
Okay, what exactly does a otorinolaringologist do?
Lol... an otorinolaringologist (I hope that is the correct spelling, I only know the Spanish spelling so this is a wild guess) is a doctor that specialize in the ear (oto-), nose (rino) and larynx (larin).
Hahaha, I'll take a note of that. *takes a note* Now, you, Hechizero, have been chosen by NASA to be the first man to travel around the galaxy. You can only take three things with you on the spaceship (aside from necessities, food, clothing, etc). What would they be, and why?
1- My laptop -> There is so much information/knowledge in there, and information/knowledge is the most precious thing that anyone can have. Oh... and I hope that the spaceship has a nice satellite so that I could connect to the internet. Hmmm, though if I'm too far away it will probably be as fast/slow as a 56K connection, but what the hell.
Nah, the spaceship has a super fast internet connection, designed for you especially by the SuperFastInternet Company.
Lol... wow... if that is true then internet can provide me with so much, eBooks, Music, Anime, *coughporncough*, etc.
Quite. What would your second and third options be?
2- Video Games -> Love them, what could I say.
3- Not sure here. I have never though of it. Hmm.... maybe some day I'll know but for now it will be an unused slot. Oh, and if any of you think that the previous two sound geeky, then yep, you're right. I'm a geek and proud of it.
Haha, geek pride! You were a pretty integral part in the development of V2 Design. What happened with that?
Hehe... yeah.. V2. You know, I love that place. Jim is an awesome artist and a hard worker and I feel pleased that the two of us could work to create such a splendid place. However, the two of us were/are most of the time very busy and a place based in something already has its icons (designs forums) is difficult to maintain if we're not active or if the staff isn't active.
So., what is V2’s biggest obstacle? Life... and that obstacle is NEARLY impossible to beat.
That's a shame, life has an annoying habit of doing that. Hechizero, thank you very much for taking the time to do this interview, and have a happy new year. Good luck with those studies
I enjoyed it a lot and hope you too have a happy new year. Thanks for your good wishes and take care.
Having worked with Hechizero on a few projects in the past, I can vouch for what a great, dedicated and talented guy he is. Thanks for the interview...I hope all you members like it - M
