I'm sure UC will do a fine job with keeping it to schedule (whatever that may be, ). Jonny or another photo-geek ( ) as a mod would be a great idea.

Yeah, and an art-student geek as a mod for graphics and what not... do we have any of those here?

Maybe you should just wait and see what UC comes up with and stop trying to nominate yourself for mod. I am sure that the appropriate mod will be picked and all will be solved.
Anyway, keep up the good work Car, I am looking forward to a new system and some practice, since it has been a while since I have done anything.

I wasn't nominating myself, but now that I look at it it might have seemed that way. I was talking about all the other photo-geeks (heck, I'm not even one, I have never even tried).

If you were talking to all three of us, please know that I suggested a competent photographer, something that I am most definitely not. edit: lol, yeah pretty much the same thing as ryan. except he beat me to it. >:\

I would be a horrible mod, I dislike this community except for a select few.

I wasn't talking to all three of you just the one who kept dropping hints toward himself. Seriously, the staff is capable of making a good choice on their own.

<3 It's hard to know what we need for mods until the system itself is up. You'll see when it is up though- and I look forward to hearing any suggestions then. We'll worry about mods later... I will just handle it myself for now.

I'm very excited for the photo one UC. Lemme know if you need any more help and stuff.
Also, I'm a big advocate for leaving one's comfort zone. That's what college did to me, and it really does work at helping one to improve. So everyone, look forward to it! *forever the optimist* ^_^

Do people really want to be taken out of their comfort zone? With the way the battle board is set up at the moment, you can do what you want and stay in your comfort zone, which surely is what people prefer, doing what they do best. The battle board isn't that active at the moment so what will happen when people are taken out of their comfort zone? [/Pessimism] So we should continue to stick pieces of gum in the large cracked hole? I totally understand where you are coming from- and I'm working hard to full develop it into something that will allow a person to take it slow, but we have SOTW. We also have the featured image in Critique, along with some of the other features we do around the board. Competition is so overused lately that there's really little incentive. Something like a battle season - whose winner, to be completely honest, I don't even know usually... and I don't think I'm the only dense one... just makes it almost feel worthless. When there are too many competitions, no one gets the recognition they deserve. There will still be voting. And there will still be recognition- and for people who have never tried anything larger than a signature, there will be ways to compete in smaller, shorter battles than others. But at the end of the day, the new system will make people get better- and as much as people say "oh I don't know that I want to try that" - I can't express how much of a sudden growth I saw in people after some of the Community Practice's. And I will say that you can point out the time in every single art group member's history where they tried something new and finally found themselves stepping out of doing the exact same signature- exact same brushes - over and over again. And that's why they stepped it up. EXACTLY WHAT SHE SAID. She speaks the truth, people. It will be very rewarding, and you will probably surprise yourselves and everyone else with skills you never knew you had. This is going to be AWESOME!!!

She's just excited because people will be able to do traditional art too.

I'm really looking forward for it. I suggested a traditional art before on a chat event, but it was kinda ignored. Gosh, I'm getting excited too.

I'm sorry for the delay guys. I will have this out soon; sorry, barely escaping the mountain of homework, and unfortunately, when I do, it is usually to deal with messes behind the scenes.

Lol... I don't miss homework one bit. Well the mass amounts of it, I still get some in my history and writing classes, but nothing like I used to have.
Now I have studio work and art work... lol. So joyous.

Can we do no points battles?
Like still get the star, just no points. Honestly, if we don't get this going soon, we could loose it.
