Can the effect of a grease monkey script only be seen on your computer? I was adding a script to a site, to change all the links to a certain color, but I was wondering if anyone would be able to see it. If not, then what exactly is the point of it? Thanks.

Got something to say tough guy gal? sorry, i thought you were joking. it doesn't change what other people see. not unless you are changing the headers/footers uh.. the um... addon only changes how your browser renders the page

The point of greasemonkey is generally to make your life easier when browsing specific websites, as well as customizing them how you wish to do so. The scripting of greasemonkey, since you installed it on your own computer, affects only what you view in your computer.

For example I use one to add some more buttons to search google, as well as one that automatically makes links out of all URLs so I can click them.
