i was just wondering if there is any other C++ or OpenGL programmers here on the forum Being that OpenGL is a library collection for the C and C++ languages (amongst others as well), being an OpenGL programmer also means being a C++ programmer. Kinda redundant to ask if both are present on the board. Anyways, I've done some minor C++ work in the past, been doing some more recently. Not too involved with OpenGL though, I prefer the SDL libraries.

yes you are right that OpenGL is graphics API witch is used in a cross platform but when you look at the code it is not the standard C++ such as std:: cout , cin most of the design of OpenGL is oop
I have never used the SDL lib before i do know you can use them with OpenGL and i think they also have the network as-well aint to sure tho

I've dabbled in C++, I have a relatively good knowledge of how it all works and goes together.

Do you actually understand what a library is and what it does? When you're using OpenGL you're not using a language in and of itself. You may be using C, C++, Perl, or any of the other languages that OpenGL compliments. So no, you may not be using the STD library, but you are still using C++ right down to the core.

Well, I'm a novice Java programmer and I was just about to start learning OpenGL next week. Found a few books and other things like that. I'm also an AS programmer, mostly going through basic fisix with myself. What do you program Staggy?

I use SDL and have messed around with OpenGL, and I hope I get around to using them both together.
And, yeah, being an "OpenGL programmer" doesn't necessarily mean one programs in C/C++.
