Ok i was asked how to make a gif in PSP 8, so this is what i told them and i thought it might be a useful little tip for those who havent set there gif optimizer bit correctly
If you save as a gif using the gif optimizer (File > Export > GIF Optimizer) in psp 8 then it will work If not, then you need to make sure the settings are correct. When you have made the image on a blank canvas or you have areas that are going to be transparent, then go to File > Export > GIF Optimizer. Then make sure these settings are what you have: Transparency:[Unchecked] None [Checked] Existing Image or Layer Transparency [Unchecked] Areas that match this color. Partial Transparency:[Unchecked] Use full trans for pixels below [ XX ] % opacity. [Unchecked] Use a 50% dither pattern. [Checked] Use error diffusion dither. [Unchecked] Yes, blend with the background color. [Checked] No, use the existing image color at 100% opacity. Colors:How many colors do you want? [ 256 ] How much dithering do you want? [ 0 ] % [Checked] Optimized Octree.
Then you should have a perfect, or at least near to perfect transparent gif
If ive missed something, or someone would just like to add or correct me on something, feel free to reply letting me know...

PNG's in IE also have screwed up color, so this is the order in what you should use: For any template pieces: GIF JPG PNG For large pieces: JPG GIF PNG For sigs: GIF JPG PNG. P.S. I rock.

If you can use pngs they are the best to use. Even with the settings set as good as they can go with gif and jpg you will still get a grany image. If you export a png you always get the best quality image ~dan
