How do you create a glassy (like in the ssd main banner) effect in PSP?

well, the effect on the banner is only a white shape with a reduced opacity. the shape is a few pixels away from the edge of the banner and it has a circle cut from the bottom to reveal the rest of the image. so make a new layer, fill it with white, reduce the opacity then cut away 5 pixels from the edge of the shape and a stretched circle from the bottom. easier than you'd think

Hmm, that could help me too. It's easy, yes.

also, how can you create a white circle in PSP 8? (all white, not the black-outlined, transparent preset one) I am making a user bar.

there should be a custom shape tool on it, it may be called preset shapes. also you can make circle brushes that works to.

For a glassy sort of effect, instead of just using a white, use a white grad. Use the fading to backgroudn grad and then select the color white, then make a new layer, use ur elipse tool and then flood fill then set the opacity to about 10% or so

That seems much more sensible.
