Adobe Apollo is upon us! For those who don't have a clue what Apollo is, click here. pixelDepth's how to install Apollo runtime and SDK.It's really exciting. I can only imagine what sort of things will appear, now that the power of Actionscript is fused with the power of Javascript. And finally, web compatibility is not an issue here! Stay tuned for the Herald Article on this, in May's issue. For now, discuss.

One irritating thing however, is the fact that your Apollo application can be edited by anyone.
Yes, after you've installed the .AIR (which is actually a .ZIP file renamed to .AIR), your main file, either a .html or a .swf, would be on the user's computer. If you're using Javascript + HTML, that means the user can edit your .html and .js files. If you're using .SWF, that .swf can easily be decompiled, and then edited.
That's very, very, very stupid. Seriously.

Looks interesting. I usually don't use new things like this, but who knows, I might actually look into Apollo.

All they need now, is to package the whole thing into a compiled byte-code or something similar, to be interpreted by the Apollo runtime. (Similar to Flash/Flex, Java and .NET)
Once they do that, I'm going to start developing Apollo applications. Immediately.

Woah. You are definitely comfortable with it. How did you learn enough to create that? Wasn't it just released? I know you are good with Javascript, but there should be a lot to learn to adapt to Apollo, right?

Actually, Chantry. There's only a couple of new API stuff to learn. We're talking about the rock of Coding God, Peter here. Peter, did you use javascript to make that new window, or did you use one of the API chrome thingy? I thought they didn't have support for HTML custom chrome styled pop-up windows?
