Since I don't think there is a place for graphic requests here, maybe I can just get you guys to help me figure out how to pull this off. I made a D&D forum and I figured it would be cool to make the forum look kind of like the player's handbook. Can anyone help me figure out how to make stuff look kind of like it? I just want to get the basic style down for the banner, table headers and footers, etc... It has the look of a book with some sort of locking covers. click here to see what I mean. I want to figure out how to make it look kind of like that so I can make my skin like that. Otherwise, if someone wants to help me make it, I wouldn't decline. >_> <_< Either way, please help me out.

Well I should say before I give you my input, that I haven't played with photoshop for a long time! I think some people would create themselves a shape using the selection or pen tools, and then fill it using the blending options. If it was me, I wouldn't have the patience to draw on all the little details, in which case I would look for a good quality stock image, perhaps of a key and of some jewelery. www.sxc.hu is a very good stock site. Let me know if you need a little more detail.

That's what I figured I'd do, I'm just not very good at getting things to look right. I didn't think of the stock images, though. I'll look through there. Thanks.
Do you have any ideas what that font might be?

You could probably find, if not the exact font, one pretty close to it at dafont.com.

*late reply?* I suggest following the colour scheme of that handbook front page. Gold with the dark browns/blacks, golden yellows, greys, and black font - an nice hint of white and red would be nice too. One way to get that old Medieval look is to use some textures the same way that title page uses it over the "gold". Don't use too much grey, though - it'll probably end up dulling your forum bit too much. You can extract the jewels from the handbook, and with a little editing (if you want), you can use them as forum graphics. You could probably find the font if you looked up 'Lord of The Rings font' on google. Oh hey, I found a pretty good one: www.thehutt.de/tolkien/fonts.html. Just scroll through that page, and you'll find a few good ones.
