you wouldn't be forcing a screenshot on them - but making it so that a browser IS required, a field for a screenshot - so people know that if it will help they should include one.
Also enforce that they HAVE to have a link!

Though my brain shut down when I hit anything that actually went into details about coding, I'd like to shoot in this really quick comment-
as for a moderator livening things up- it's true that moderators have a set area that are tied to... and feel more of a responsibility to make a difference in the area.
But like other areas of the forum that went through activity drops, we don't really appoint a moderator and hope they'll do the work. We promote someone who is already doing the work- by acknowledging they're officially in charge of the area.
In other words, if people want the coding area to be livened up, don't wait to be given an orange name. Start new discussions, send us ideas for community projects. We'll work with you- whether you have the orange name or not.
And most importantly for anyone actually interested in being a moderator... you should know that I only pick moderators who take some amount of initiative. Impress us with your drive and you earn your spot.

The main reason I think a mod is needed, is for updating the database and handling requests. SSD is not only regarded as one of Proboards best design communities, but also one of Proboards best code resources. There are several forums that link to us when people are searching for codes. We owe it to them to have an up to date database. Not one thats been under construction for a while.
Note to people who want orangeness: UC likes her brownies with pecans.

The combination of coding discussion and support/requests is a bad idea. True, there is very little activity in that area right now, but doing this will insure it stays that way.
Code Support and Code Requests should be in one board, and code discussion in another. The code submissions could easily be added to the code database under a sub-board too. That will still leave a total of three coding boards, which is fine in my opinion. I don't really get where the idea of combining the boards is coming from. I like the way it is now.
Now the activity thing ... There isn't really much that can be done about it. There are very little active coders, so a competition is out of the question. So Wrighty, you might want to forget that idea. There aren't any really coding knowledgeable staff on SSD, so weekly or monthly articles is also out of the question. If the members decide they want to come here to post about coding, then activity will increase. What can be done? It's easy to just post and say we want more activity, but what can be done about it?
EDIT: Also, that whole "new-age" code database thing is not only unnecessary, but unoriginal. I like the current database, because you can just ctrl f what ever you are looking for, and you will get it instantly. Other database systems are nice, but they do not add anything to the one SSD has now.

Section for generators. I also believe it had a description feature that you could also search by.
