I just use Nautilus, the GNOME file browser (think Windows Explorer for Windows). I have my server's FTP mounted so I just double click it and bam, it opens up my FTP in that tab. From there I can just go on dealing with my local files in a separate tab. It makes for a rather seamless integration of web host + desktop. Dolphin > Nautilus KDE > Gnome

I also use cyberduck for my Mac. My cPanel makes it very easy to configure my FTP so I don't have to manually fill out the password, usermame, ect. for access.

Dolphin > Nautilus KDE > Gnome You sir, are a nub. I cant take offense just because you dont know what a real desktop environment is.

You sir, are a nub. I cant take offense just because you dont know what a real desktop environment is. KDE is the eye-candy Windows-convert newb-friendly desktop. I used KDE... 6 years ago. I won't disagree that it's a nice desktop solution. But it's not superior to Gnome.

I use whatever the distro's default is. Or if It comes only as command line I typically install gnome because its smaller.
