~epic-:-century~ says:
Ok, so just to get started whats your background like and how exactly did you find SSD?
Kay says:
Well, I joined during v1 though I didn't post until v2. Never came really active until July of 2005. I found SSD when I had just discovered ProBoards. I had a forum of my own, and back then I was obsessed with the show Charmed, and I had a fan forum for the show. I went to SSD for the codes, and even asked for a few graphics in my time. In fact, I think I still have a graphic that UrbanCinderella (Car) made for me, way back when.
~epic-:-century~ (in interview) says:
So you found SSD helpful?
Kay says:
Yes, I did. And still do. But back then, I wasn't really into the community, I found it a bit intimidating back when I first joined. Now, I'm well into the community.
~epic-:-century~ (in interview) says:
As do most people, so is this what made you stay, the help?
Kay says:
Like I said, I didn't "stay" until July of 2005. What kept me at SSD then was because I was pretty much immediately accepted onto the Herald staff as a writer, though nothing got "published" until October, or November I believe. It was also the friends that I had gained while becoming part of the community.
~epic-:-century~ (in interview) says:
Ok. Well now that we have some background on you lets learn a little about you. What your first name, how old are you, what country/state/city(optional) do you live in, what activities are you in
Kay says:
Let's see,
Name: Kacie, but I go by Kay online, which is one of my middle names
Age: 16
Location: Washington, U.S.A.
Hobbies: Writing, music (listening, singing), basketball, and even being involved with my school
~epic-:-century~ (in interview) says:
You say "even being involved with my school", do you find that uncommon in todays web society?
Kay says:
I do. Most people online I know aren't really involved with their school. I know of a few, like Ryan/Psionic fo example. I know he is. Chris/CD is, he's on the football team. Me, I didn't really get into the school sports teams. Mine's more of the school government. ASB (Associated Student Body Government) I'm the secretary/treasurer, we have meetings every Wednesday after school. Our school is small, 492 students currently enrolled. Havermale, my school, use to be an Alternative school, but it's now a regular high school so we've been going through some changes. That's where my role in Peer-To-Peer comes in. The administrators bring issues to our attention, and get our opinions, and they actually take what we say into consideration. Like our Homecoming dance was on Friday, I was the one who chose the theme, and we got to do what we wanted. As long as it's not breaking district policy, we can do whatever we please.
~epic-:-century~ (in interview) says:
Sounds interesting. You mentioned the prom, are you one to go out and party much are you one who likes to relax?
Kay says:
you mean Homecoming?
~epic-:-century~ (in interview) says:
right.
Kay says:
Mostly relax. I've partied a few times. But mainly it's always been around my birthday. This last year for my sweet 16, I got really drunk, and blacked out. First time I'd ever gotten sick, and had a hangover. I usually don't drink like that, but it was my sweet 16, something I'd been looking forward to since I was 10. I do go to parties, but I try to stray away from them. The last one I went to, the end result was something I don't care to have happen again. So I'll be sticking to relaxing more often.
~epic-:-century~ (in interview) says:
Ok, You Sound like your a fun person to be around. is their any fun times you remember from SSD with some of the members?
Kay says:
Haha. Quite a few. The two that stick out the most was all MSN convos with numerous people in them. One, was when James and someone else decided to make up sexual references to all the MSN smilies, very humorous. I remember sitting back in my chair laughing so hard I was trying to not fall out of it! Then was when Ryan/Psionic, Crazy_J, Mitch, and some others, including myself came up with the SSD Family Tree. It was quite fun, though Ollie protested at first. We've actually been talking about updating, not sure if that'll ever come around, maybe when v6 is released.
~epic-:-century~ (in interview) says:
Well i think thats about it, is there anything you would like to say to the people of SSD?
Kay says:
Umm...be good little whombles, and quit bugging Oliver about v6, it'll be here. You'll love it. Just be patient.
