Dug it out from the black hole called my workspace so it's a bit out of date. Enjoy.

We'll leave it at that.. You were tossed the admin position in one of SSD's darkest hours. How did you prevent mass choas from breaking out?
Well not so much tossed, but it was given pretty quickly to me, I didn't have to accept it of course, but I did as I thought it would be worth a shot and I'm glad I took the choice. As for mass chaos, well the forum was pretty well behaved but there was an overall negative atmosphere. I was talking to UC about things we could do to get it back up a bit even before I was made main admin. So the first thing I did was to promote her, I knew we worked well together. Meanwhile SSD was gaining a lot of attention, people confused at what was happening. So posts were made to clear it up. Then we progressed with implementing our ideas and getting the place back up to how it should be. Within a few days it was very active.
What drew you to SSD in the first place? Did you have a feeling it would be big? Or just joined it for fun?
I intially didn't pay attention to the forum as it wasn't that eye catching, this was in the early days and I just used the site for it's generators and found them to be such a great help to my forum. Then one day at the end of may, I clicked onto the forum and was taken back by V2, it was nothing like I'd seen before. At this time SSD didn't have a lot of members maybe around 100, I posted there on and off, but nothing really kept me. I noticed it becomming popular coding wise, so I popped in there and used the scripts. At this time I used to rate forums over at Proboards, but I didn't enjoy it so I moved to SSD to give my comments, where they seemed much more appreciated.
And as they say, the rest was history.
Yes.
So Mr. Olive Tree, who are you? What do you (dis)like? What do you enjoy doing?
Well I'm Oliver, most of my friends and workmates call me Ollie in all kinds of different spellings, either way I don't care. I'm a pretty normal person, slightly perverted, I'm fairly intelligent but I don't excell in everything.
Likes: Well apart from the obvious male pleasures, I love listening to music, if I find a good CD or song, no matter how long I can usually just turn off and listen to it. I'm always buying cd's and stuff. Food is a passion of mine too, usually for the wrong things such as chocolate, but that can't be helped. I also like a good laugh, so funny websites and random/dirty chats with friends are great too. SSD is in the likes too, although not all the time it can be a pain.
Dislikes: Ok this is where you start seeing weirdo across my face:
Slow people/People that push in crowds - I get so annoyed, just grrrr
Rude, arrogant people
New potatoes
meat with no gravy
emo
people that say "sup" on msn.
Loud people
going to the toilet in other peoples houses
ignorant drivers
chavs (uk reference)
Sup, can I use your toilet? How is that annoying?? So, basically, you'd let your friends piddle on your carpet than use your toilet. Hope you dont have white carpets.
For toilets, no I don't mind other people using mine. Using it for a quick break is fine, but anything more then I dislike, especially when it wafts out into the hall. I'd rather stink out my own house than get dodgy looks when I emerge from a friends house.
It's called air freshener. Pretty cheap really. Plus, they have some nice scents.. I personally like the flowery scen.. anyways, you get the point.
Haha.
So, let's lighten up the mood a bit - How did you develop this odd bean fetish?
It is certainly not a fetish and anymore mentions of it, I'll have you strung up by your arse. People around me on msn started going on about beans, so I joined in.
Well, somebody is cranky.
I like creating that effect ;D
If you could do anything career wise, what would it be?
Well I particually have an interest in modern languages, so being bi-lingual in French is a goal of mine. I'd love to own my own successful company.
SSD is paradise for coders and designers alike. Which one do you prefer over the other?
I'm more of an artist myself so I relate better and tend to focus my attention on the design side of things, though once in a blue moon I do check that my staff are doing their jobs in the coding areas. So tough monkey nuts if you're in the desiging area as staff as I'll most likely be on to you.
It wouldn't matter - my designing skills suck.
Agreed. ;D
You just love doing that, don't you?
Yeah you sympathy seeker.
Any tips to up and coming designers?
Yes a few. I don't call myself an expert, so whether you take this seriously or not is up to you. Everyday I rate stuff in show off, mainly signatures, these are what most people start on. A good habbit to try is originality, everytime I see renders brushed to death, it just makes me think "uh not another". Give me 8 sigs in that style and I probably wouldn't be able to identify who made it, except for the text. Keeping things simple doesn't hurt either. Basic things too like, "well if you can't read the text, who the hell can" Keep text simple. Plus if you're using images have a good hard think about what you're adding it to and if it really suits. I've seen pop stars on grunge styled backgrounds (why?) Explore other styles, looking around deviant art really helps. End of my little lecture, and please think of the people who have to comment on your work, particually those that spend time commenting, don't just show anything.
Said like a true person, not a fake.
Thank you.
Lastly, what are you thinking of at the moment?
I'm thinking about what you're wearing and what this strange boy looks like. Care to fill me in?
I should of known.... You're kidding right?
Nope.
Well, it's summer, so obviously a tshirt and shorts. Oh yeah, plus my Livestrong band. No, not Livestrong - it's a red one for my school - I just say Livestrong by habit. I had one of the Livestrong ones, but it broke.
Yeah yes you fad follower.
Well, you survived the interview. go splurge on some baked beans for a midnight snack if you desire.
I just think I will.
