OK, I'll expand.
I've already said why I have voted for Tao's work.
Obsidian: While the piece is well drawn, I find the lack of colour a little bland compared with Tao's and Pandora's work. Also, the eyes aren't level, if I was being pedantic.
Pandora: Whilst extremely well drawn and coloured, I think that it is a little complex, and that is what puts Tao's work above yours in my estimation. Merely a matter of my taste, I suppose.

Fair enough. I like Tao's piece too, actually, and have in the past done similar tree shtuff.

Give me a little slack, I actually drew this piece upside down, (that's another story) her left eye is slightly more open then the right, so she's squinting one side. Not wonkiness. Yeh!

Ummm. I'm thinking Tao. If I saw that I would buy it. It has a beautiful simplistic quality to it. Actually hell, can I buy it? Not to say that Obsidians and Pandys weren't good, but I really liked the style that Tao's had. Put a little more exertion into it Bryan. Hm, I'm gonna have to go for Tao, me thinks ... All of them are quite nice, but I really like the simplicity and style of Tao's. I'm not sure of anything else I can really comment on. I think it's just the style that influenced my decision. They're all good, in my opinion. I don't think your vote contains enough detail either UM. ______________________ Vote: Tao Ren: "Rising Sun" Obsidian, I really think you have some potential. But overall I think the face is too deformed. The hair also looks too large on the left compared to the right. Some more light and color would help this piece a lot. Good luck with your future pieces. Ranked 3rd in this battle. Pandora, I love your creativity. Your style is very appealing to me. I do think the colors could of been more bolder and eye catchy, but I suppose that isn't your style. Overll everything seems rather random and sort of awkward looking. Ranked 2nd in this battle. Tao Ren, great details. The blending in the suns rays is a tad too strong. Otherwise, the tree, grass, and background were very nicely created. Not too simple and not too complex. Ranked 1st in this battle.

Not to say that Obsidians and Pandys weren't good, but I really liked the style that Tao's had. Put a little more exertion into it Bryan. Are we going to have trouble here Luke... again?Ok. While Pandora's piece contains a certain sympathy due to its inclusion of a human(oid) character to draw your focus, and the colours are expressive and light - connotating, I think, as intended, a certain sense of tranquility, the style of Tao's appeals to me over yours...hard luck I'm afraid. Obsidian: I'm afraid your lack of colour loses you this round, the others both submitted pieces with vibrant, or expressive, colours. This made your piece seem muted by comparison. I also don't quite understand the theme - unless it is a picture of your current squeeze? So the vote goes to Tao: Simple and vibrant use of a primary colour in stark comparison to its surroundings, combined with the simplicity of the 'foreground', creates a very appealing basic sense to your piece - without being actually basic, simplicity through complexity if you will. the line work and colouring is very neat, which only enhances this effect. Philistines the lot of you. *flounces out

It is lovely to see some traditional works going on here! Great idea My vote is going to Pandora: To me I find this interesting, it provokes some thought in me. Appropriate use of colour, the little tea stain like splatters really go well. Overall really nicely done. For the other entries: Obsidian, a nice portrait here, it could do with some shoulders though, to make it less like it is floating. Part of the hair is missing too. So overall it would be good to see a fuller portrait. Tao Ren - Very nice simplicity as mentioned before, lovely use of colours here. I don't find it as interesting as Pandora's though, but it was a close call for me. Tao Ren: 3 Pandora: 1 Obsidian: 0

My vote goes to Tao Ren although it's simple it's a good piece and nice red used, Pandora I don't know what to say about yours I'm just not used to voting on traditional art and Obsidian this would look a lot better with the eyes lined up properly and with some color used.
Tao Ren: 4 Pandora: 1 Obsidian: 0
Tao wins congratulations!
