These battles are going to be different than previous battles. For the sake of lack of activity, you won't be matched up like a normal tournament. You will enter a single image (two for Elite) and we will judge. We plan on doing another tournament during the spring time with the normal styled tournament setup.

Will these be up soon? And how long will the elite have to turn both images in?

I'm waiting for Matt to come online right now. If he doesn't within an hour or two, I may just post them myself. We'll have to wait and see.

It will. I'm waiting for Matt to reply with a simple yes or no and we will be ready to start.

Yay. =D I'm pumped.
Edit: Eh, still a little confusing one pool for everyone? That's kinda weird. =P
Despite your threat I might have to drop out of this because of the weak factor. =/

It'll get edited by staff no doubt, but that's the _insertwordiwontgetbannedforhere_ tourney image for elite. The others are there too, snoop power.
EDIT: Please do not go posting things before they are ready to be done. Also, stay out of my host.

No pairings? Just one big pile of submissions?
...you failed.

more.than.a.sig.for.novice.please.
Sig battles are, well, boring. They lack the size to put in a lot of detail and a good image. I mean sure, a sig can look good, but tell me, how many sigs have you seen make the dev art favorites, or the daily deviations, or even getting any favorites.

It's not going to be possible to please everyone with this or with anything. For me, it's a good thing that there are no pairings as they often add a lot of time to the whole thing and allow it to continue for a long time. It could end up going on for months, but people sometimes don't have months to wait for a small prize at the end. People's circumstances change, which can mean that people start going through by default or spending a reasonable amount of time on a piece, only to realise your opponent is unable to do it.
As for the novice part, most of the sign up images were signatures too, and the specifications did say it would be a small image. Generally novice's will get less favourites and certainly won't get daily deviations.
If it's not how you're used to doing things, give it try rather than this whole "it sucks" attitude. Remember this it's a competition. There will be winners, there will be losers. We've allowed those with lower ability to enter amongst people of a similar level. Of course there may be some people who are better, but you can't work around that and you should expect it.
Matt and Josh have planned this out with me also, they had a good amount of control on how they run it too. It's the first contest we've had here for a while. Remeber, this isn't being done for a joke or for the mods benefit. They're doing it for you
If it doesn't work out how it's expected we can try something else the next time.
Give it a chance.

If Matt does not come on within like a half hour, I will post everything, rather than wait for him.
And Oliver, thank you. *Hugs*
For everyone else, I would like to point one thing out.
This has been in planning for a month. We have looked at it from so many different angles. You have no idea what we put into this. I have been working on straightening things out everyday for two weeks now. I had to make 8 different images for the sign ups alone to get it to look somewhat good. I have put more itme into this than I have for anything in a while. All for you guys. Not for me. If it isn't what you wanted, get over it.

Hurry it up, I've been waiting all day for pairings (only to be dissapointed by a poolmatch), and I'm tired and I'm on very low bandwith which disables me from browing as freely as I could be.

Alright. Judging by the time it must be by Matt's (at least 11 now), I just posted them myself. Please follow the rules and post any comments/suggestions/questions in here. If you see something wrong with the images, please alert me so I can change them before it messes someone up.
