Does anyone know of a way to make the anti-aliasing, well, better? Right now all it has is sharp and smooth. I have XI. And, sharp sux. Text I find, is one of the few things that sux about PSP. Is there like a hidden setting I can click to make the text more crisp like PS? Thanks for any tips.

I've also noticed that Gray though personally with all my text things I've ended up picking a certain font that works the best so it doesn’t look like crap.
I open the font, and bring up the image I want it on, input it -> cut -> paste new layer -> Gaussian blur ->0.5-1.0 -> 80% opacity -> paste new layer center over that -> 95% opacity. That normally leaves the font smooth and yet readable, you can play around with the blue so it isn’t noticeable and simply smooths the lines of the text. With paint shop, some fonts are worse then others unfortunately…
If that doesn’t work let me know and I’ll give you some other tips but that is the most common fix I use to make it less … well less pixely on the sides. __________________________
+ Someone may know of a hidden setting but I've been using paint shop awhile, and well I don't know where that is located ...

Have you tried turning anti-alias off? I find that when I do that it makes the text a whole lot sharper and distinct. I have XI as well, so it should be the same.

I always found that made it worse for me ... Yea same. I like what you said Vintage, I will try that. I just don't know why PSP can't make the text perfect like PS. The text is never sharp.

PSP is for nubs, use some real software... called ADOBE! Firstly, if it is for nubs, why the hell come into a PSP board? Secondly, you obviously have no clue what PSP can or can't do... It isn't for nubs. So... Yeah.

I can do everything you can do in Adobe ... PSP is hardly some basic program, it is nearly the same identical program yet easier to learn. People still buy programs ?

People still buy programs ? We are now allowed to discuss software piracy? But yeah. I can do pretty much everything Adobe can do with PSP. Its just the text I don't like. Though, PS does has some helpful features PSP has other sick nasty stuff to counter that. For its price, it's definitely a bargain.

Hands down, there's nothing in Photoshop you can't do with PSP, it just may take a bit more work. I'm curious to know how the font "trick" works...

Vintage I actually tried yours and it came out much smoother still not perfect but its better.
Another thing I did was if you take off the stroke on texts with sizes less than 15 or so, depending on the font, its much more crisp.

Well gray you really have to play around with it, really depends on the type of font used. I tend to play with the blur layer more then the non-blured layer.

You should never have the stroke on, unless you want to go for that look. Always have it defaulted as zero, god, that made my cringe to think you had it on.
