This months coding hint is something that may be a hit with you MySpace users. It is CSS Layers. Layers you ask? Yes, Layers aren't just for Photoshop. An Example of Layers would be LAYER 1 ON TOP: <div style="position:relative; font-size:50px; z-index:2;">LAYER 1</div> <div style="position:relative; top:-50; left:5; color:red; font-size:80px; z-index:1">LAYER 2</div>
LAYER 2 ON TOP: <div style="position:relative; font-size:50px; z-index:3;">LAYER 1</div> <div style="position:relative; top:-50; left:5; color:red; font-size:80px; z-index:4">LAYER 2</div>
Now position is all about the Z Index, think of it as a Z Axis in math. Try looking at the code example again, and see how I used the z-index to put LAYER 1 on top in the first example, while I had LAYER 2 on top in the second example? You do? Good. This concludes this months coding hint, any questions or suggestions can be PMed to me.

Stellarium I know, you're thinking, what use is this, and to be perfectly honest, there isn't one. I just love this program. This is an open source program that can be found Here.. It is basically a huge 3d Rendered Astronomical map, it shows you constellations and other astronomical objects. It even has some customizing options that allow you to add your own objects or even landscapes around your sky. Now this isn't a 3d rendering program like Terragen, it is just a educational program. Overall I like it because of its clean UI, short learning curve and excellent representation of the night sky without light pollution. 3.5/5

This ones a little new to SSD. Not many people know that it's possible to have a quick Shutdown icon on their desktop. Even more surprising is how easy they are to create. This can be used to easily and quickly shutdown your PC with a simple double clicking an icon instead of having to click Start > Turn Off Computer > and then Shutdown. Step One: Right click on your desktop
Step Two: Navigate your way to the new shortcut option
Step Three: Now is the part that can be changed to your specifications. Depending on the icon you want you will change the line accordingly. In the active field type in on of the following without quotations; Shutdown your PC: “shutdown -0” Log Off the user: “shutdown -l -0” Restart your PC: “shutdown -r -0”
**The zero at the end is for setting a time in seconds for the action to delay. Click next and name the icon
Step four: Click finish and you have yourself an icon -= Continuing to change the icon to look more presentable=-For this example I have created a log off button. But instead of the plain default program icon windows sets I want to easily locate it by making it look like the “Log Off” button. Right click the icon and goto properties. Once inside the properties window click the button saying “Change Icon”. You may get an error saying something about icons not being found for such and such just click okay and you will be taken tot he default icon browser. Locate the icon you want, any of them will work but I chose to stick with the yellow log off key icon. Click okay and your done.
